I'm not sure on the whole avi and divx thing but basically I've been burning quite a few movies lately, and they are avi files. So the one I am currently trying to burn can be viewed perfectly in Windows Media Player and VLC and even Nero Show Time, but when burning it to DVD I cannot see it in the preview, simply the black screen with audio, help? Thanks a bunch.

  1. you need a converter program .

if you input" converter" in your browser it will come up with some free ones.your choice.also recommend you download a codec pack.

"k-lite codec pack" is free it is the one i use

if you are prepared to buy a program i recommend~"convertxtodvd"it is the best i have found.

you can get a 30 day free trial,it's the full program but it puts a watermark on the copied film,

    hope this helps
