  1. Years ago a green card may have been enough.  However with the introduction of the WHTI and the increased entry barriers, a passport has become the "officially" recognized document.  Even though it is a regional airline, it is very likely that there will be some trans-border trips.  I know that one of our small U.S. airline partners requires all employees to have a passport; not only crew, but staff as well.

  2. I think you could work for an airline of your origin, what country are you from? You could prolly work international and make a lot more money than flying regional.

IE, what country does your passport say

  3. You have to have a passport - but not necessarily a USA passport - just a passport from the country you are a citizen of.  This plus a US green card authorizes you to work in the US, and to enter the US, Canada, Mexico, and Caribbean countries - all the places you may go to with a regional airline.

Your commercial license needs to be issued by the FAA - so if you have a foreign license you would need to convert it.  You also need a FAA medical license.

  4. You should be able to work with just a green card.  You do need all your type ratings in the US.  The regionals may require a US passport eventually, but they should help you obtain that passport.
