  1. FADEC - Full-Authority Digital Engine Controls .That is the name for the system . Consist of a ecu (electronic control unit ) on the engine, mdu ( monitor display unit ) control unit in the electronics bay which links to other computers.  The system monitors ,controls ,self test all engine functions . All inputs from the cockpit are sent to various computers before going to the fadec ,then fadec says yes or no if it can be done. Cost of a ecu is 150,000 just change one on airbus the other week .

  2. If you don't ask a specific question, you cannot get a specific answer. If your question is just "what's FADEC", then use a search engine. It will provide more useful replies than just someone telling you what it stands for or describing it in a sentence or two.

  3. FADEC is an acronym for Full-Authority Digital Engine Controls.   A FADEC system usually consists of an EEC (Electronic Engine Control) and some for of FCU (Fuel Control Unit).

Basically thrust lever position is measured and sent to the EEC which interprets it and sends a command to the FCU which meters the fuel to the engine.

If this is what you're asking.

  4. adding on to what mike Tyson said  it can also control prop pitch, throttle, carb heat and mixture setting into one control lever which adds safety because the pilot can focus on other thing besides the settings
