Hello everyone.

How much does it cost on a year basis to have a single engine Cessna (172, 177, 182) in CANADA?

Which are the costs involved for the same above question?

Thanks

  1. Simple question as i had a 172 for 20 years and just traded it in on a Mooney.

Basic parking about $350 year, hangers are about $400-500 a month.

    Annual inspection about $2500

Oil and filters about $500 a year

Insurance: depends on the number of hours you have but $2000 a year for full coverage is pretty close.

Annual fees from Transport Canada $75 bucks

Gas etc depends on how much you fly

Engine overhaul etc anywhere from $10,000 to $30 grand

I put 30 bucks in a special bank account for every hour i fly. That way when the annual bills come in the money is there to cover it.

    Hope this helps

    Russ

  2. All in for that class of aircraft you should budget about $75 per flight hour, if you plan on flying up to 100 hours per year.
