Aviation course?

which course is more important for being a pilot?physics or Geography ?The university i want to go to offers geography&aviation and science&aviation.which 1 is better,or should i take both?Thanks

There's no real reason to bust your balls on studying.

It's a myth that pilots need to be really good at math and science.

You just need basic math skills that any 8th grader would know.

I would take physics because of the math involved, but I imagine geography is more fun. Take geography.

If you want to take a class that is actually useful and relates to aviation, take the physics. For having so much experience, the guy above me doesn't know very much about flight. Basic math may cover everything you HAVE to know to be a pilot, but it doesn't cover nearly everything. You you actually want to understand how an aircraft works, you need physics.

I have a bachelor's degree in aviation. I had to take physics, trigonometry, calculus, and aircraft science, which was a physics class that dealt with only aviation. In one of my turbines classes we had math problems that were multiple pages long to determine the thrust and pressure at different altitudes and temperatures. If you are a pilot and a mechanic works on your plane, do you want to be able to make sure he did the work right? There's all kinds of math involved in making repairs. Figuring out thrust to drag ratios and lift coefficients uses math and concepts you learn in physics.

If you just want to be a stupid pilot who doesn't know how is airplane works, take geography. If you want to understand how your plane does what it does, and something useful, take the physics.

There is some math involved with aviation, but a good knowledge of geography is more important.  The math involved is minor enough to just take a course in basic math.  Knowing how to read a map and understand the relationship to topography is most important.  Learning how to read a map and and recognize where you are at ALL times.
