  1. As you see, it depends on the context.  The traditional meaning has to do with blood coming out of a wound.  It can also refer to air being bled from a turbine engine for any of various purposes, for "bleeding" fluid from a hydraulic or other liquid handling system, or as a slang term for gradual slowing of speed.  There are other meanings, for which we would have to know the context.

  2. Air tapped off a turbine engine comes off a compressor section, not a turbine section.

  3. If you are referring to bleed as in bleed air, it means tapping off an amount of air to be used for another purpose such as anti icing, pressurization, or other things.

  4. Its basically reducing (skimming) something (typically fuel or airspeed) to achieve a desired configuration.

    TURBINE BLEED / BLEED AIR

In turbine engines, bleed air is 'skimmed' from the engine and used to operate other aircraft systems.

    FLUID BLEED

Aircraft fuel tanks & systems will have a 'bleeds' and 'bleed valves' that release excess pressure that can occur with changes in fluid temperature or system malfunction. This is common in many fluid based systems (not just in aviation).

    BLEEDING AIRSPEED

Pilots will usually refer to this when they want to reduce speed in a controlled way.

  5. usually the aircraft needs air to pressurize and for air conditioning of the aircraft this air comes from engine ports (bleed ports) usually one at the low stage and the other one comes from the high stage (high pressure turbine section). This alternately gives off this bleed air for the purposes mentioned before.

  6. Usually it means losing fuel; to avoid troubles!!!

  7. Typically, bleeding a system consists of draining all remaining liquid or gas out of a system of pipes and valves such as bleeding your pipes before a big freeze or something...

    Hope I could help!
