  1. fruit!

i just heard it on tv :)

  2. Botanically speaking it is a fruit because technically there is no such thing as a vegetable(scientifically).

for example: tomatoes, corn, peas etc. all are fruits. anything that has seeds is a fruit, so that is a good rule of thumb for whether or not it is a fruit. Also all true fruit comes from angiosperms or flowering plants.

from wikipedia: 'The term "vegetable" generally refers to the edible part of a plant. The definition is traditional rather than scientific. It is somewhat arbitrary and subjective, as it is determined by individual cultural customs of cooking and food preparation.'

also: "In botany, a fruit is the ripened ovary—together with seeds—of a flowering plant. In many species, the fruit incorporates the ripened ovary and the surrounding tissues. Fruits are the means by which flowering plants disseminate seeds.[1]"

  3. fruit

  4. Well, I KNOW you're wrong.

    A "vegetable" is merely a USDA/culinary classification.

It has a seed inside it.

    It's a fruit.

  5. an avacardo is a fruit and vegatable.

  6. an avocado is a fruit and is declared a gymnosperm for having it's seeds inside the fruit cells. it is not a vegetable because it grows on trees.
