Question:

Avoiding goggle marks?

Whenever I swim, even for 20 minutes, I have unsightly goggle marks under my eyes for literally hours. I can shower, rub, moisturize, etc, but the marks remain until pretty much the next day. Can anyone suggest perhaps a different brand or type of goggle? I can't use a face mask for competing and I know that improper fit is not the issue.

  1. i used to swim year round. there is a goggle available without the rubber lining. i really liked them. two rubber straps, and they come in cool colors. no rubber lining around the eyes i swear they work!  i won many races

  2. Don't have them set so tight, loosen the straps to where there's really just enough tension to keep them in place, and as someone above said, don't press them hard against your eyes when you first put them on.

  3. I think the brand R.W is talking about is swedes that fit right into the socket of the eye.  I use vanquishers and don't have too much of a problem with racoon eyes.  However looking back on all my school photos from hs there is always some sort of marking around my eyes.  :-)

  4. maybe you are allergic...try swedish goggles.

  5. Try not pushing them in, that's usually our first instinct when we put on goggles so that water doesn't seep in, rather than that try tying them tighter in the back and not pushing them in at all.
