Avoiding knee problems?

What are some good ways to prevent knee problems from running? I am a runner, and recently I have had knee pain when I first begin my run and then it goes away after about a mile or so but I don't want to injure myself,so I need some good ways to avoid it.

  1. shoes are def key....always stretch out.


  2. some simple things, like new shoes can help

    even if they're fairly new, they might not have enough cushion for shock support so you knees are still affected, so try different kinds

    also, arch supports help because the arch affects the entire leg and if it's collapsing, then the knee can suffer too

    and if these don't work, there are special knee braces (you've probably seen someone wearing one running on the street) which you can ask a doctor about or buy online
