Avonmore Star set to shine in Back Or Lay At Betdaq.Com Handicap
The legendary trainer Richard Hannon-trained bay gelding, Avonmore Star, is all set to shine resplendently in the Back Or Lay At Betdaq.Com Handicap that will be held at Kempton racecourse on Wednesday, July 11. The Class 4 race over 6 furlongs is scheduled to commence at 7:20 (GMT).
The four-year-old veteran horse gained a lot of confidence by finishing first in the Racing Post Jubilee Special Out Tuesday Handicap over 6 furlongs at Brighton on May 31, 2012.
Prior to this, the brilliant son of Avonbridge, out of mare Pooka ‘s Daughter finished 8th against 13 competitors on April 16----he was the 9-2 favourite for that event.
In his 19-race career, the Ken Geering-owned maverick sprinter has run at Kempton once. This was his maiden race entitled as European Breeders’ Fund Maiden Stakes, held in May 2010. The skilled gelding finished 3rd in that contest.
As a whole, the Miss J. R. Tooth-bred runner has three classic conquests to his name. In today’s sprint, Avonmore will definitely show a rock-solid run to add another glaring success to his career chart.
Among the gelding’s competitors, Close To The Edge is the runner, who will fight hard for the top spot. The Alan McCabe-trained bay filly marvellously notched up first position in the Sendrig Fillies’ Handicap over 6 furlongs at Newcastle on May 31, 2012. That victory was a big morale booster for her.
The experienced daughter of Iffraaj, out of mare Iktidar, moved forward to finish 4th against 10 rivals in her last outing on June 29. As a whole, Charles Wentworth-owned filly has won 4 of her total 28 starts so far.
In the Back Or Lay At Betdaq.Com Handicap, Close To The Edge will show a lot of resistance against, Avonmore Star, who will have to employ an offensive and audacious strategy to thrive.
Thus, the race will be filled with thrill and throb and, a huge crowd is expected to turn up to Kempton to enjoy the live action. Good luck to both the worthy contestants who are geared up to entertain the spectators a few hours later.
