Avram Grant praises West Ham United for 5-1 win over Burnley in FA Cup
West Ham United manager Avram Grant has praised his side for a brilliant 5-1 win over Championship side Burnley in the FA Cup at Upton Park.
The manager has guided the Hammers to the quarter-finals of the competition where they will face Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Winston-Reid-c36960 and Freddie Sears were the other scorers. Burney’s forward Jay Rodriguez scored the only
goal for the Clarets in the embarrassing defeat.
Grant was happy with his side’s performance as he said that his team’s confidence was high after some good performances in the past few weeks. West Ham stunned West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League last week by coming from three goals down to snatch
a point from the Baggies.
"We are the Premier League team so normally we need to win these games, but they are difficult because they are playing well and tactically they are very good. But we played well in the second half and it was difficult for them,” said the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786
manager.
Avram Grant insisted that the Premier League was very important for the London club and saving the club from going to the championship was still his priority. He said that his side was full of confidence and would be looking for some good results ahead.
The Israeli was all praise for his team which lost just one in the last five matches in all the competitions.
Grant said that he wanted West Ham to win every game and save the season. The Hammers have had something to be happy with some good performances recently after a disastrous season and the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympic-c40122 Stadium vote going their way.
"Our target and first priority is the league, but it's always good to come into the quarter-finals of the cup. We want to win every game. We know in the cup you lose one game and you're out, but in the league there is always the next game to make things
better,” Grant maintained.
Avram Grant was named as the London club’s manager in the summer after Gianfranco Zola was sacked by the club, signing a four-year deal. The Hammer’s form this season has been poor and they sit in 19th place currently with 25 points. They have
lost 12 of the 27 matches played in the Premier League and won only five of them.
Grant has a huge task ahead to save West Ham from going down as the London club will face http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 in the forthcoming fixtures.
