Avram Grant says Joe Cole will shine at Liverpool
West Ham United manager Avram Grant says that Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole will shine and the Merseyside club are yet to witness the best of the Englishman.
Avram Grant spoke of Cole ahead of West Ham’s match against the Reds and expressed his desire to sign the English midfielder.
The Hammers’ manager said, “He has a good spirit and is good to any team on and off the pitch. I think he started well, then he had an injury, and then it was not so good for him. Sometimes when you are injured it's not easy to come back and it was a little
bit difficult for them but I am sure he will be very good for Liverpool. If not, then they can bring him to me.”
Joe Cole moved to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 bench in the previous season.
The 29-year-old was tipped to make a huge impact at Anfield but his Liverpool debut did not go as he would have dreamt of. The former Chelsea player was shown a red card in his first match against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429.
Moreover, Joe Cole suffered knee and hamstring injuries which had put him on the sidelines in the first half of the season.
The midfielder returned against Sparta Prague and failed to impress as he looked completely out of depth. It was http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Joe-Cole-c18694’s first match under Kenny Dalglish, who rates the former West Ham player as one of the best midfielders in the Barclays Premier League.
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish defended Joe Cole’s under-par performance in their previous match and claimed that the midfielder is yet to hit his full fitness.
Dalglish said, “He's done nothing but good over the last couple of weeks when he's been fit enough to train and he did well enough against Sparta last week. He's a talented footballer and we will try our best to get that out of him.”
Joe Cole, who has scored twice in 19 appearances for Liverpool, is expected to start against his former club West Ham United on Sunday. It would be Cole’s first Premier League match under Kenny Dalglish and first League action since December 2010.
