Avram Grant was given enough time to redeem himself – West Ham United vice-chairman, Karren Brady
West Ham United’s Vice-Chairman, Karren Brady, has insisted that former manager, Avram Grant, was given every possible luxury but still could not deliver. He admitted that the club had been underperforming for the past couple of years but thought that the
things could have been different had Grant been able to bolster the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Defence-c38904 and the midfield.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 manager was sacked following the Hammers defeat to Wigan Athletic by a 3-2 margin after leading 2-0 at the break. Grant was left furious at that display and termed that performance as ‘ridiculous’. That defeat signalled West Ham’s relegation
from English Premier League, which was immediately followed by Grant’s sacking.
Brady mentioned that according to the officials, Grant was the perfect man for this http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684. He believed that the Israeli was a bit unlucky as the team never rose to occasion at the start of the campaign. They lacked attacking instincts and were absolutely thin
at the back. The vice-chairman, though, mentioned that Grant’s demands were fulfilled almost immediately by the officials but still he was unable to keep the team up in the League.
Brady confirmed that there wasn’t any sort of pressure upon the manager and the only thing that was demanded of him was to keep the side up in the League.
Further commenting upon the former manager, Brady enthused, "A good man, Avram was given every chance but he was sadly unable to deliver. He was given extra training-ground staff and his personal needs met - including a driver, a new office and an upgraded
expensive football analysis system. When things got tough, we backed him again.”
He also commented upon the January signings and claimed that Hammers were forced to invest money upon the trio but it didn’t work in their favour. The trio included former Tottenham Hotspur striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Bridge-c36733
and the Senegalese, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Demba-Ba-c10812.
West Ham will wrap up their disappointing campaign against Sunderland on Sunday, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/May-22-c39884. The Hammers will appear in Championship football from the 2011/12 season in their bid to reclaim their Premier League status.
