The left-handed opening batsman from Rawalpindi Region, Awais Zia, has vowed to make it to the Pakistan team soon, and said that he is working very hard in the domestic cricket of the country.
The left-hander has been doing pretty well in the domestic cricket of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 since the last couple of years and impressed one and all during different T20 tournaments organized by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). He was influential
in Rawalpindi’s victory in Faysal Bank Super Eight T20 Tournament 2011 and is having a good Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2011-12 Division One season.
Good performances at the domestic level have forced the national selectors to consider him, and he has been named in the Pakistan Under 25 cricket team, which is scheduled to take part in the upcoming SAARC T20 cricket tournament, scheduled
to be held in Maldives from October 31, 2011, till November 7, 2011.
Awais understands that he is having a good season in domestic cricket and must carry on with the good work in order to make it to the national team.
The left-hander said, “This season is a huge season for me at Rawalpindi and I really want to build on a decent season last year. My dream is to play for Pakistan and I really hope that will happen one day. In the meantime I will continue
to do my best in domestic cricket for Rawalpindi."
While talking about his road to success, Awais revealed that he faced a lot of problems initially in order to become a professional cricketer but he thanked his creator for all the blessings he has been bestowed upon in the last two years.
“It's been a long and eventful journey and there's been a lot of hard work and effort to reach this far. It's been a tough journey, but by the grace of the Almighty things are much better now," he added.
