Await The Dawn set to make a comeback in the Coolmore China Ire.Friendship Silver Stakes
Await The Dawn, trained by A. P. O’Brien, will get a chance to redeem himself at Curragh this week from the disastrous performance he delivered at Meydan in March 2012.
The bay horse completed the order of finish in the Group 1 Dubai Duty Free Sponsored By Dubai Duty Free at Meydan, where he was paired with rider, J. P. O'Brien.
The son of Giant’s Causeway, out of mare Valentine Band, will enter the Coolmore China Ire.Friendship Silver Stakes on 10th June, 2012, attempting to prove himself over a distance of a mile and 2 furlongs.
With the exception of his last two starts, the five-year-old has a pretty impressive record - five victories out of nine starts.
The Michael Tabor owned runner previously triumphed in the Group 2 Hardwicke Stakes, where he raced as a favourite and stole the race from the William Haggas trained Harris Tweed by 3 lengths.
Jockey Ryan Moore was his mount for this race, and he skillfully guided the runner to victory in the 1 mile and 4 furlong course.
Aidan O’Brien is also running Learn and Tower Rock, in this race. Both these runners are exceptional competitors and have the potential to notch the victory.
Learn, son of Galileo, out of mare Kentucky Warbler, has claimed three placed positions in five starts, and would not hesitate to bring his best to the track.
Jockey C. O'Donoghue has mounted him in all his starts, including the victory that he claimed in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden at Leopardstown in August 2011, where he raced as a favourite and justified that status by a 5 length
victory over G. M. Lyons’s charge, Strada Colorato.
The bay colt will be making his seasonal debut in this race, aiming to begin this year in a grand fashion.
Tower Rock, son of Dylan Thomas, out of mare Monevassia, landed a solid finish as a runner-up in the Group 2 Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial Stakes on 13th May, 2012, where he lost by a neck to Light Heavy. The third place was
secured by the race favourite, Wrote.
