Question:

Awareness for male rape.?

i have heard about male rape before, but never thought of it as a big problem in our society.

but recently one of my best guy friends told me he was raped 2 years ago. i couldn't believe it.

he also said that in his old town, people found out and he lost a lot of his friends since they just made fun of him for it and called him g*y.

it crushed me to hear this since he is such a great guy and he doesnt deserve to get all the humiliation after something so serious.

so it got me and my friend jessica thinking. we want to raise awareness about male sexual abuse, especially since people are so concerned about female sexual abuse or other things like cancer, but then turn a blind eye towards this.

how can we start raising awareness towards this, starting in our city?

(it will be harder for us to since we aren't adults yet)

  1. That's why you never drop the d**n SOAP! COME ON NOW!

That's how Al Capone died. AIDS. Dropped the soap....

    Jeez.

  2. How does a female rape a male? Men are stronger.

  3. Hand out fliers with information, start an event and get sponsors, make a website, partner with other existing sexual abuse organizations, etc.  There's a lot you can do.

Good luck, I think it's great you're motivated about this, and don't let being younger stop you!

  4. You and your friends could begin by writting letters to the Editor of large newspapers .... Address them to:

                              Editor

                          "Newspaper"

                           City, State Zip Code

Also send letters and e-mails to your state and federal elected officials asking for more awareness on Male rape ...

Post on MySpace about it twice a week or so ....

Those are just a few things you might consider doing ..

  5. Call it the "Don't Drop The Soap" campaign.

  6. How is it rape?

Unless the chick is fat or ugly i'd enjoy if a girl did that kinda thing to me

  7. Call your local police department, and ask for community affairs and ask them if male-male rape is a problem in your city, and then ask them what to do?

Call a home for battered women and ask them the same question, and what to do?

If it is a problem in your city, call the local TV and radio stations and ask how you would make a Public Service Annoucement (PSA), and have it aired in regards to male rape.  Make sure you take statistics to show them its a problem, and they will be more apt to running it.

Call the local newspaper and tell them you have a human intrest story.  Tell them what you are doing and attempting to do, and let them send a reporter out to interview you.
