What are some great anti-theft devices? I want to take the best care of my car possible, and I want to make sure it doesn't get wrecked. I hear of peoples rides getting trashed or stolen and it scares me.

What are some great anti-theft devices to make sure I have the best chance possible of never walking out to an empty parking space?

  1. My favorite anti-theft device is called Rottweiler!  Just leave your guard dog inside the car when you park, and no one will ever bother it!

  2. The most formidable line of defense against auto theft is LoJack's Vehicle Tracking System. LoJack is the only car anti-theft device or tracking and recovery system operated directly by law enforcement agencies. When a stolen car report is filed, local law enforcement computer systems immediately activate the LoJack Car Anti-Theft Device hidden in your vehicle. Local police then track the signal emitted by the car anti-theft device and follow it to the location of your stolen truck or car to recover the vehicle.

    The LoJack Early Warning System

The LoJack Early Warning System is the most advanced car anti-theft device in the LoJack line of auto theft prevention products. LoJack's Early Warning System lets you know when an intruder is attempting to get away with your vehicle, allowing you to check on it immediately. Car owners carry a personal LoJack Early Warning Key Pass that sends a signal to the car's anti-theft device confirming that they are an authorized driver of the vehicle.

If an unauthorized driver attempts to move the vehicle, the Early Warning System notifies you right away. LoJack Early Warning Recovery System car owners decide how they want to be contacted by the car alarm pager (phone, e-mail, text message) and can choose up to five means of contact.

  3. As stated above get the RAVELCO Anti Theft Device because it works and I have installed hundreds of these for my customers and to date, not one of them have been stolen.

  4. My husband has some sort of kill switch installed in his ignition. If someone tries to hot wire the car or stick something in the key ignition it will kill the switch and they cannot take the car. It will not start at all no matter what they do to it. His stereo also has some sort of anti theft protection where they can not absolutely steal the stereo. He plans on getting a new Camero at the end of the year and plans on having the same thing done to it.

  5. One word...Ravelco. I too was looking for a reliable, simple, and cost effective anti-theft device for my new car. The Ravelco makes it impossible for your car to be started without the Ravelco plug. The peace of mind it provides is enough to satisfy the fairly high price. It costs between $300-$400 and is professionally installed with a lifetime warranty. Check out their website. www.ravelco.com

  6. http://www.jablotron.cz/en/car.php?pid=p...

I'm using this one in my Mazda 3, my father in his Mazdaspeed 6 (Mazda 6 MPS), had the same on his old M6.

Remote with floating code, independent sensors for engine bay, doors and boot, ultrasonic interior monitoring, current consumption detector, shock sensor, tilt sensor (optional, it's kind of anti-towing device:-), memory (will tell you the reason for the last two alarms), can be set up to automaticaly close electric windows, can call your cell phone, it can even have a module to call you and transmit sounds from the car! It can even lock the car automaticaly if you remote-open it accidentally after locking it (keys in the pocket....), panic button....

It's fully integrated with engine immobilizer - if someone opens the car without triggering sound alarm, they won't be able to hotwire a car, or even start with a key - they would have to have an original remote control - there's a secret k**b to dissable the alarm in case you lost it or batter in the remote goes flat (lasts for 4 years).

Some jablotron products are also available in the USA, but I don't know about car alarms.
