Awesome Asset could prove to be awesome
We gave you two winners here at bettor.com yesterday and we’ll look to continue that good form today with Kinigi in the Ryan Moore Three Classic Wins 2010 Handicap at Brighton.
Ryan Moore might not be taking the ride but, having won four out of her last five starts, the form book suggests this is the horse to beat. Her last race come here at Brighton where she won by three lengths running on strongly and before that at Wolverhampton she won by two lengths. Her mark of 66 seems to be fair and looks the one to beat.
Awesome Asset could prove to be truly awesome in the Tarpan Vodka Median Auction Maiden Stakes if the filly has learnt from her first race start last time out at Newbury. She was pretty green that day and the experience should definitely help her this time around and with her dam’s previous six foals having won races the pedigree suggests she’s much better.
Consider that the winner of her maiden race was Sweet Cicely – who has gone on to beat Group One winner Hooray – and there might just be enough talent here to make a strong claim.
Godolphin’s Maywood looks to have too much talent for the field in the European Breeders' Fund Maiden Stakes. He came second in his first race at Wolverhampton by a nose, after having got away slowly. He did show some greenness that day but with the third and fifth horses now being rated 80 and 75, form suggests he will be too good in this race.
That was 12 days ago and if he’s learnt from that experience the drop to seven furlongs shouldn’t be a problem for this well-bred colt.
