Awesome Decorating Ideas For Really Cool Attic?

Question

My family just moved and if u go through my closet there is an attic that I can do what ever i want with! I have some ideas but would love to get lots more... so far i wanna get rope lights, put posters up, maybe get some carpet... all thats up there right now is a wood plank floor, and rafters... absolutely no decorations. i really want to make it cool so any ideas are welcome! FYI... im a girl, so no football or anything...lol

Get some really bright spot lights and put them all around the attick. Or some cool hanging lights like these. (nothing breakable, so you can have parties and stuff)

Wall murals are a really good way to spice up a boring room. PB teen has alot of really cool ones:

Get some carpet thats not too thick and kindof hard and put a really nice BIG rug across almost the whole room:

Get nice lounge seats like bean bag chairs or small couches:

But, dont just get a rainbow of colors. Heres some color ideas for you to stick with throughout the room. Rainbows are tacky.

I think a great idea is to make it a lounge-type of environment.  Add lots of pillows with unique designs or create your own pillow designs at http://www.visionbedding.com/PhotoPillow... you can design some really cool things or customize their designs.  This would be a great way to display art but not use up the wall space (if there is much).

Then add some cool lighting like pendant lights (globes) or track lighting which is really cool and modern - check out http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stor... or http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/produc... or http://www.pbteen.com/products/p2263/ind... these light options will provide a lot of light in a dim space making it feel cozier.

Also having some comfy low chairs or bean bags (check out love sac) will make the room feel cozier and people can just chill.  Depending on your budget, adding a tv that is suspended from the ceiling and can rotate or is mounted on the wall would be a really cool idea.
