Become a beekeeper.  There is a serious shortage of honey bees.  Honey Bees are needed for pollination and produce cash crops of honey and bees wax.

Also having a hive or especially an observation hive you can study how these social insects interact.  There are three castes of bees.  There is usually only once queen whose job is to lay eggs (about 2000 per day).  The drone (male) whose only job is to mate with the queen.  The worker bees (females) who do ALL the work.
