Awesome twosome performance from China in final of Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold
It was a win-win situation for China in the Women’s doubles final of Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold as its pair Tang Jinhua-Huan Xia bagged the crown by beating their compatriots Bao Yixin-Zhong Qianxin on March 18, 2012.
This awesome twosome performance from both finalists honoured China with top two positions in the event.
The victorious duo Tang Jinhua-Huan Xia dominated most part of the 48-minute tussle and sealed a splendid straight-set victory with decisive figures of 21-17 and 21-10.
The World Number 20 pair set the ball rolling from the very first set when they clinched opening match point and established their grip over the match.
Their rivals put a decent fight by scoring 17 points on the score board but could not continue their successful run as supreme coordination of Tang Jinhua-Huan Xia came in their way and put halt to their expedition.
There were five times when the triumphant couple scored consecutive points in first set. These ten points in just few minutes ultimately made a huge difference as the losing contenders never came back from the loss and knelt down in the opening set after
reading 17-21 score on the board.
The World Number 21 duo of Bao Yixin and Zhong Qianxin got pale in front of their compatriots in the following set and could not display their prime skills. They made terrible mistakes which cost them the final match.
They were restricted to just 10 points by their rival Chinese duo of Tang Jinhua-Huan Xia who first bagged 9 points by pushing them back with their powerful smashes and then they beat their opponents with deceptive net shots eight times.
The Champs exhibited their premium court craft and convincingly won the second match point by putting 21-10 score on the board. This final blow concluded their straight-set victory in the title match of Women’s doubles event.
Earlier, China made into finals of three categories out of which two crowns belonged to their shuttlers. The second victor was the Men’s singles expert Chen Jin who escorted his country to glory in the Swiss Open 2012.
