Question:

Awful, terrible cramps?

My period ended 2 weeks ago, so I'm positive it isn't menstrual cramps.

I had it once already last Thursday. This morning I woke with a nasty headache that would really throb when I got up, and I actually had to sit down, one of the throbs was so bad. I don't know what to do! It hurts sooooo badly.

BTW - I am 13, so that should help narrow down some of the things I can do.

  1. My doctor told me that when i know my period is coming to start taking Midol or Pamprin 2 days before so i won't cramp as bad. Idk if this is menstrual cramps or maybe you were just sick to your stomach. If it continues i woudl see a doctor.

  2. I have the same problem. I'm 19 and have dealt with horrible, make-you-cry, kind of pain since I was about your age. My doctor told me that extra cramping, before or after your period, is caused by ovulation.

It is helpful to take meds before your period actually starts. I also use a heating pad or warm bath to help with the pain.

Also, its very common that you are having headaches. Your body becomes very exhausted during your period, so if you aren't resting enough, that can make the headaches worse.

I know what you are going through, and wish you the best!
