Hi

I'm having trouble finding information about these two parts of the skeleton on the internet. I found something in Wikipedia but i need some more information.

I'm wondering if anyone can help me with some information that would answer the question...

"Describe how the appearance and location of the appendicular and axial skeleton related to their function."

Thankyou

  1. Hi =)

They are the two divisions of the skeletal system. The axial protects the brain ans spinal cord, and the appendicular sends and receives impulses to the peripheral of the body. It responds to stimuli and also calls muscles and glands into action to protect the body.

    The Axial skeleton:

Location = The axial skeleton consists of the skull, vertebral column, and rib cage.

    The appendicular skeleton:

Location =  The appendicular skeleton contains the bones of the appendages (limbs, wings, or flippers/fins), and the pectoral and pelvic girdles.
