  1. Attacks in A & A are resolved as follows:

Active player moves all units.  Any units which end up in enemy territory are resolved in battle.

All attacking units and defending units are placed on the "battle board."  This board has icons for all of the relevant units in the game, located in a column labeled with 1, 2, 3 or 4.  Attacking units go on the attacker side, defending units on defender side.

Anti-aircraft fire is resolved.  If there are planes in the attacking force and an AA gun in the defense, the defender rolls one die for each attacking plane.  For each number 1 rolled, the attacker loses a plane, prior to battle.  AA guns are then removed from the board.

Roll a die for each attacking unit, this is typically broken down by column, so that a die is rolled for each unit in the attacker's 4 column, 3 column, etc.  The number on the column is the value that you must match or be under on the die in order to hit an enemy unit.

The defender then rolls a die for each defensive unit, again by columns.  Once the defender has rolled for all units, both sides decide which units to take as casualties, based on the number of hits the opponent scored.

    This continues until:

    The attacker retreats

    The defender is destroyed

    The attacker is destroyed

    Both side are destroyed
