  1. I have played the board game and the PC game.

The more people the better because you don't have one person controlling three countries and acting at one.

It's a bit complicated at first, because, unlike Risk, you have different pieces with different values and varying attacks.

If you like Risk, you will love Axis and Allies.

The biggest issue is finding people to play with you.

  2. Axis and Allies is a fun game that usually takes at least 5 hours to play to completion.  It takes a little bit of work to learn, but it is worth it and once you learn the rules for one game, you know the basic rules for all of them.  There is also the minatures game and it collect-able.  IT is fun and it takes about an hour or two to play.  It has different rules and is more of a tactical level game.  It has hills and rivers not countries and seas.  The miniatures game is a two player game.  The board game takes 2-5 players and it is more fun in my opinion with at least 3 players.  One player plays Japan and one Germany and the other the Allies.  There are rules to make the game shorter by making the goal to be 8 victory cities instead of the full 12.  I have been playing Axis and Allies for over 18 years and it is still one of my favorites to play.

  3. I love Axis and Allies.

It's complexity is what I like about it.  The rules are lengthy and will take about an hour or two to go over completely.

The shortest game I ever played was just over an hour.  The longest game I ever played was over four hours.

Playing with 5 people isn't as fun for me as a two player game because of players selfish motives and it makes the game longer.  The two player game lets the two axis powers and the three allied powers work as a team.  That's what makes the two player game awesome to play and faster.

I've never lost a game to the PC game.  There are a few glitches in the PC game that make it crash.

I prefer the full original board game.

There is a place to play on line.  If you;re interested, check out http://www.axisandallies.net
