ay guys i wanted to know what will be the dependent , independent and controlled variables in an experiment to measure the amount of chlorophyll in spinach leaves.

i am doin this experiment , by mashing the leaves , adding acetone and magnesium chloride and placing the liquid in a centrifuge tube to measure the amount of chlorophyll

The dependent variable is what you are trying to measure as "output", in this case the amount of chlorophyll

The independent variable would be what you are trying to change to make the dependent variable different.  In this case you would be trying spinach leave raised under differnt conditions or different ages or different varieties or something

The controls would be things you keep the same, like the mashing, amount of acetone and magchloride and the centrifuge time.  These all need to constant to see the affect of spinach type on chlorophyll
