Ayamzaman records the fastest time in Coral On TV Standard Trophy at Romford
Heat 3 of Coral On TV Standard Trophy saw Ayamzaman stopping the clock in just 24.07 seconds, the fastest time over 400 metres at Romford on Monday.
M. Wallis’ charge established his dominance quickly after the beginning. After stepping out of the fifth trap, the black and white hound made no mistake and put his rivals under tremendous pressure.
He maintained the highest standards of speed right through the event, giving his opponents no chance of spoiling his party. Following a terrific job, the dashing hound beat Romeo Colarado by 5½ lengths.
P. Young’s trainee covered the distance in 24.51 seconds. The blue and brindle dog was lucky to finish second, as he could secure the spot only by a short head’s distance. Droopys Bach finished third on the table.
Earlier in the day, Millwards Matt showed a magnificent performance in opening heat of the competition. P. Young’s dashing hound clocked the distance in 24.35 seconds, beating Trappers Corner by a short head’s distance.
Although he was not dominant all the way through, his near-line-lead guided him to a fascinating victory. The 5-4 favourite, Melodys Express, could not live up to the expectations. The black dog missed the runner-up place by
one and a half lengths.
Heat 2 was dominated by Nans Turbo, trained by E. Gaskin. The 4-6 favourite picked up an early pace to inflict pressure on his opponents. After a wonderful start, he did not let things slip out of his hands, gaining a decent
lead at the first bend.
The black dog outsmarted All Jack by five and a quarter lengths. All Jack managed to seize the runner-up place only by a short head’s distance. D. Mullins’ trainee, Droopys Rosemary, ended up third in the list.
The finale of Owners' Bonus Series was another major event at Romford. The £500 contest was won by Adamant Alex, who was carrying the highest starting price of 2 to 1.
The Grade A4 saw the maverick hound leading the affair all the way through, covering the area in 24.82 seconds. Lola Gee finished second while the third place went to Regal Duke.
