  1. The SWIFT code is made up of a code for the bank, code for the country and then the branch code.

If you ring the bank they will give it to you. It's no big secret.

It will be something like ABBYNI7R

    ABBY for the Abbey

NI for Northern Ireland (or possibly UK or GB)

and then some number and letter to identify the branch.

The BIC code is longer and includes your own bank account number.

  2. Assuming that you mean the international code for the S.W.I.F.T. funds transfer system, do you really believe that any one is going to hand you the code for the worlds largest and uncracked computer system, on which international banks rely, for billion pound transfers, and secrecy ? have you lost your tiny mind ? do you believe this is going to be handed over, on Yahoo Messages ? no, really, just how stupid do you think bankers are ?

It is possible that Coca Cola will hand you their formula first, in a brown paper bag, in a subterranean car park after you meet, "Deep Threat" at the Washington monument, on the thirteenth of February, 2009, using the code phrase, "It is comfortable weather in Minsk, at this time of year" with your reply, " The birds have not flown South yet, they are waiting for the Arsenal result, at seasons end, I fear"....

Please do not embarrass yourself with this type of silly prank, it shows a degree of immaturity, and a patronising attitude to the knowledge of grown ups !!!

  3. Isn't it on your bank statement? It might also be called a BIC code.
