The Liverpool managing director has claimed that the side will make sure it keeps important players in the summer transfer window
There have been widespread reports that Luis Suarez will leave Liverpool in the upcoming summer transfer window as a host of clubs including the likes of Bayern Munich and Manchester City are after him. The attacker has been in
scintillating form this season and has already scored a staggering 29 goals in all competitions this season.
Ian Ayre claimed that the club’s priority at the end of the season would be to make sure important players such as Steven Gerrard and Suarez stay at the club for the next season. He stated that to remain among the top clubs in
the world, Liverpool will have to keep the best players at the club.
“To play at the highest level in the Premier League and European soccer, you need players like Luis and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Gerrard-c34196 on your team so the last thing in our mind is selling Luis Suarez. He's not for sale. It's not something we're
interested in,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, the chief hailed the club’s transfer policy. He admitted that Liverpool have made some brilliant signings in the January transfer window in the form of Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho. Both of the players
have proved to be great successes at the club and Ayre is hopeful that a few more additions in the summer will bring the club in Europe at the end of the next season.
“We were very pleased with the most recent window in January with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Sturridge-c10076. It's a combination of skills and people and processes that bring us to what we're trying to achieve. I think we've had relatively
good success since we deployed that methodology. We're getting better all the time,” he concluded.
