  1. Both completley different drivers. Senna was the best natural talent ever but at times emotion got the better of him.

Schumacer was default best throughout the early milenium due to having a superior car and a team focused on him. Hard to give anyone the best driver title, as there is too many to choose from as you can't discount,

    . Fangio

    . Moss

    . Clark

    . Graham Hill

    . Stewart

. Fittipaldi, though Fittipaldi was less impressive when paired with a strong team mate

    . Lauda

    . Piquet senior

. and Prost, I think its up to personal opinion.

  2. It's kind of apples and oranges because Schumacher got a chance to complete his career and Senna didn't. But I think that had Senna lived, Schumacher would have eventually got the better of him. The world has been robbed of a rivalry that would have been awesome to watch.

  3. Neither of them are.  Fangio is by far the greatest driver ever.  I  don't think Schumacher deserves to be ranked greatest ever, despite 7 championships to Fangio's 5.

I personally don't think Senna was better than Prost.  I thought Prost and Schumacher are roughly on the same level, maybe Schu is slightly higher.

Senna was outscored by Prost in an identical car (1988, 1989 Mclaren) and I think Senna sometimes overdrove.  Prost's driving was scientific, smart and precise, but sometimes boring.

He was a master car developer and incredibly good at setting up his car for races.  Prost might have had better race pace than Senna, who was always faster over one lap.

  4. Senna without a doubt... Senna died early so you can't compare race wins between a driver that had a lifetime to race and one that didn't... you can compare the pole positions... true Schumacher had more, but he also was in more races... if you look at the % of poles then Senna was 40% and Schumacher was only 27%... you really can't compare victories in that way because Senna was in teams where the two team drivers competed against each other... Schumacher was mainly racing with Ferrari where he was the number one driver and even if the second Ferrari driver was winning the Ferrari team would tell the number two driver to slow down and let Schumacher pass... In other words a lot of Schumachers wins were gifts, not earned.

Moreover, Schumacher won many of his races in a non-spec car... FIA rules stipulated that no traction control or launch control be used in a car, yet it is well know that Schumacher's Benneton had illegal traction and launch controls available to Schumacher... Benneton claimed that they were only for testing purposes and were not used in the actual races... but why would you put illegal things in a race car if you had no intent on using them?  You wouldn't... since it is also know that Benneton used illegal fuel rigs to speed up the pit stop times one can only assume that Schumacher was using the illegal devices too.... In other words comparing Senna to Schumacher is like comparing a genius that aces the SAT to a bum that has bought the answer and also aced the SAT... you can't do it and shouldn't even try.

  5. I never knew Ayrton Senna, as he was killed when I was only 4 months old, so I will have to say Schumacher! I thought he would beat Alonso the year he retired.

  6. they are/were amazing drivers though i would go with Schumacher,he is a 7 time champ and set all those records and was the best in the rain and he brought Ferrari back to the top .. In Senna`s last season Schumacher was beating him and would have still won his 1st title even if Senna had lived(which we all wish was the case)

Let`s just respect what those guys gave us all and RIP Senna

    we all miss you..

  7. Jimmy Clark. Schumi and Senna were great, but neither one could do quite what Clark did.

If I am stuck with Schumi and Senna, though, I'll go for Schumi. His car control was otherworldly.

  8. Senna, he did it without most of the electronics & in cars that needed out right skill to control. Never saw Schumacher drive a 1000 - 1200 bhp turbo F1 car & the way he bitched about traction control & driver aids being removed took me by surprise, maybe he was just too old to deal with it

  9. Senna was good in his time and that goes for Schumacher in his time, but the outstanding legend has to be Michael Schumacher he was put more pole postions, fastest laps and world titles. than ayone in the history of F1, I like Michael i have supported and followed him since 1991 ok he has make a few errors just like the rest, but he is more determined and dedicated more. he worked harder while the drivers went home he was at the circuits at night practicing even more and he still is the greatest fittest driver out there how much he isnt racing.
