Azad Al-Barazi earns Men’s 100m breaststroke gold – Swimming news
Azad Al-Barazi of Trojan-CA earned gold medal of the Men’s 100m breaststroke on third day of the 2013 CA TYR Fran Crippen Memorial in Mission Viejo Nadadores, California on Sunday, June 9.
The 25-year-old Al-Barazi stifled hopes of his challenges in the 100m discipline as he transpired on the finishing end for gold medal. With his notable pace, he faced no competition from his opponents and emerged on the finishing end for gold medal.
He qualified into the playoff as fastest swimmer and with his immaculate efforts; he managed to step on the podium for gold medal with an effort of 1 minute and 02.50 seconds.
The gold medallist was chased by Jason Block of UCSC, who was 0.77 seconds slower from his former finisher and touched the wall for silver medal by producing an effort of 1 minute and 03.27 seconds.
Nick Kostiuk of Keyano, who was 0.10 seconds slower and surfaced on the finishing end for bronze medal by producing an effort of 1 minute and 03.37 seconds, chased the second best finisher.
Fourth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Christian Higgi of CAL-PC, who was 1.05 seconds slower and surfaced on the finishing end by clocking an effort of 1 minute and 04.42 seconds.
Fifth best position of the race was secured by Hunter Cobleigh of Class Aquatics-C, who stayed 0.13 seconds away from overpowering his former finisher and tapped the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 04.55 seconds.
Cobleigh was followed by Ryder McGinnis of Keyano, who was remained 1.80 seconds slower and emerged on the finishing end by tapping the wall with the timing of 1 minute and 0.35 seconds.
Seventh position of the discipline was obtained by Hunter Sa-Nguan of Aquazots-CA, who was 0.08 seconds slower from his preceding swimmer and concluded his swim in a time of 1 minute and 06.43 seconds.
Peter Kropp of Rattler-CA, who was only half a body length behind and posted an effort of 1 minute and 06.95 seconds, secured eighth spot of the swim.
Kropp was trailed by Patrick Kang of Class Aquatics-C, who was marginally slower from him and finished his swim in ninth place with the timing of 1 minute and 06.95 seconds.
Furthermore, Al-Barazi was happy with his top finish in the race while the position holders collected accolades at the prize ceremony of the event after the session.
