Azahara Munoz hopeful for the Evian Masters title
Azahara Munoz, the Spanish golfer is eyeing the Evian Masters title and is very confident of her chances.
Munoz, who is the current the world’s number 14, is in great shape for the event. Her performance at ISPS HANDA Australian Open was extraordinary and many say that she will repeat the performance at the Evian Masters.
When asked about her chances at the French tournament, she replied that she feels very confident about her win. She added that she has been practicing rigorously, both alone and with her coach.
Munoz is well known for giving a tough time to her opponents in the middle and final rounds of any tournament. This practice could repeat itself in the Evian Masters and might get Munoz a place in the top slots.
She was also asked about the golf course. She is very familiar with the golf course and counts this as one of her strong points.
When asked about it, she said that she does feel that the golf course has undergone changes that have made it better.
She had comments about specific holes of the golf course. About the second hole, she said that the added length has made the hole perfect. She did not like the renovated ninth hole, which according to her, has now become inaccessible.
She was very critical of the 14th hole. She disliked the length, saying that it was perfect the way it was before. She, however, resignedly said that she might as well like it as the course administration will not change the hole to suit her tastes.
A very common question asked of the women golfers is the about their clothes and golf attire. Munoz said that she prefers to dress according to her mood but does have a luck dress. She said that she intends to wear her lucky dress during the event.
On the whole, Munoz was very satisfied with her game. She said that she has put in long hours of practice and will like to compete strongly in the event. After the Evian Masters, she plans to go to the US and take part in golf events there.
