Azahara Munoz ready for Lacoste Ladies Open De France 2012
Spanish Azahara Munoz is all set to take part in the upcoming Lacoste Ladies Open De France, scheduled to start from October 4-7, at Chantaco Golf Club, Aquitaine, France.
Munoz is not the only formidable star in the roster, but she has grabbed much of the attention due to her achievements in professional golf.
Although the Spanish star has not been able to win an LET (Ladies European Tour) tournament since her last victory at the Madrid Ladies Masters in October 2009, Munoz has always struck fear into her rivals and she is being regarded as a strong contender for the looming battle in France.
During her pre-tournament interview on Wednesday, Munoz said that she has always liked to play in France and Lacoste Ladies Open de France is one of her most favourite LET tournaments.
The LET golfer is aware of her crowd support because she boasts a massive fan following not only in Spain, but also in other European countries like France, Germany and The Netherlands.
“I would like to play in Europe more but it’s hard because we have so many events in the States. Now we have two weeks off so it was a great opportunity for me and obviously it’s a Lacoste tournament. You know, I’m part of their family and I want to support them as well,” Munoz said.
When asked how she feels her current from is going to help her stay ahead of the field, the Munoz said she is happy to be back in form as she has worked hard on every aspect of her game lately, fixing persistent errors.
She said it is common for players to repeat the same mistakes over and over again, but she has learned to tackle such issues thanks to a rigorous training she has been having on the practice range.
However, Munoz pointed out that she has not changed her swing, as she likes to keep it the way it currently is.
“I did a few changes in the off season and playing in tournaments, you always go back to the same mistakes. Every time I write something about my swing, it’s always the same. After playing four or five weeks I go back to the same,” she said.
