Azahara Munoz ready to record yet another victory at Stockton, New Jersey
Spanish Azahara Munoz, who won the Sybase Match Play Championship 2012 recently, is preparing to record yet another victory at the ShopRite LPGA Classic, scheduled for this week, at Stockton Seaview Hotel and Golf Club, New Jersey.
Munoz is in high spirits these days, especially following her amazing victory at Sybase Match Play, held at Hamilton Farm Golf Club, New Jersey.
The field for the ShopRite LPGA Classic is believed to be pretty strong, given the presence of most of the key LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) players.
Officials told that the field has been published and is also featuring the defending champion Brittany Lincicome.
Moreover, the current world number one Yani Tseng is also eyeing this week’s title, as she could not prove her mettle at the Sybase Match Play Championship 2012.
Other key players include the current world number three Suzann Pettersen, Stacy Lewis, Maria Hjorth, Jessica Korda, Sun Young Yoo, Na Yeon Choi, Sophie Gustafson, Mina Harigae, I.K Kim, Ji Young Oh, Jin Young Pak, Paula Creamer, Laura Davies, Shanshan Feng
and others.
Analysts said that it will not be easy for Munoz to repeat what she did at the Sybase Match Play Championship. Some players appear to have the upper hand, due to recording victories at the tournament.
The Spanish star has repeatedly vowed to do her best in the 2012 season. Analysts said that she has been facing trouble making balanced putts, but most of the times, she appears to have control.
In order to keep her game in motion, Munoz has been training hard on the practice range, which has been helpful.
The 24-year-old golfer has been seeking to make a name for herself on the LPGA. Having racked up 2 professional victories, she has started on the right track, but has a long way to go before she can think of comparing with big names.
In addition to proving her worth on the LPGA Tour, Munoz has also recorded a victory on the LET (Ladies European Tour). She won the 2009 Madrid Ladies Masters.
The Spaniard said in one of her interviews that she has finally regained her momentum. However, it remains to be seen how the young prodigy is going to fare against contenders like Yani Tseng and Lincicome.
