Azamata vying to break his maiden at Leopardstown
Azamata is going to unleash an amazing run at Leopardstown racecourse on Wednesday, March 28 and break his maiden by finishing first in the Summer Festival Series At Leopardstown (C & G) Maiden.
The high-profile contest over 1m2f distance is scheduled to start at 4:55 (GMT). For the prize money of €8,280, the Kevin Prendergast-trained bay colt will compete against Badged, Calgacus, Chicago, Cropley, Dynamite Dixie, Hail, Suneagle, Taigan, Tucker Casey and Yellow Road.
Azamata started his career with a marvellous runner-up rank on September 10, 2011. The novice runner moved forward to grab third top spot in the second and last race on September 18.
These two contests have hiked the talented horse’s confidence and fighting spirit to a great extent along with establishing him as a favourite prospect in the eyes of the bookmakers.
The young colt has earned £18,017 as prize money. At the moment, he is awash with form which will surely lend a great hand to him in today’s mega marathon.
Azamata’s chances to finish first in the race are more than 90 percent provided he manages to make a right use of his capabilities.
Among the other runners, Hail and Taigan are also likely to perform well on the track and each of the duo can give enough tough time to the hot favourite colt.
Hail made his debut by finishing third in a race on October 5, 2011. The trainee of A. P. O’Brien moved forward to notch up a runner-up rank in the very next contest during the same month.
In his last start at Leopardstown on November 6, the three-year-old runner performed excellently against 17 rivals and clinched fourth position.
On the other hand, Taigan grabbed second position in the only race of his career on June 26, 2011. This talented colt is also trained by O’Brien.
There is anticipated a rip-roaring competition today. Each of the above three colts will struggle hard to break the maiden. Let us enjoy the action and see who manages to make the breakthrough. Good luck to all the contestants.
