Azhar Ali: A solid top order batsman for Pakistan – Part 2

The 26-year old batsman is yet to score a hundred in Test cricket but his solid technique and some gritty innings against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 have impressed one and all. The hallmark of Azhar’s batting is his near flawless technique and temperament which helps him to spend long hours at the crease.
Over the years, Pakistan has struggled to find reliable young batsmen who can play the role of Inzamam ul Haq, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Younis-Khan-c98325 in future. However, the Green Shirts have unleashed some promising middle-order batsmen as the likes of Umar Akmal, Asad Shafiq and Azhar Ali himself have given some hope to cricket fans of Pakistan.

Even though, Azhar has played a number of beautiful knocks for Pakistan but he is yet to register his first hundred in international cricket. Unlike some of the other flamboyant Pakistan batsmen, Azhar likes to take his time and build the innings. He can be useful in limited overs cricket because of his ability to hold up an end. However, his prime focus should be on Test cricket, which is his forte.
