Interim coach of the Pakistan cricket team, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Asad-Shafiq-c46208, claiming that the duo is going to bear the burden of Pakistan’s batting in the years to come.
The http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758, which is going to start off with the first Test of the three match series at Abu Dhabi on October 18, 2011. The Test series is going to be followed by five One Day Internationals
and a T20 International.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohsin-c77587 revealed that the selection committee is looking at these two players to score big runs in all formats of the game. He is off the opinion that the two batsmen can improve their game even more if they can become mentally stronger.
The interim coach said, "I look at Azhar (Ali) and Asad (Shafiq) as two very talented young batsmen. They are excellent cricketers who can serve Pakistan well. With a greater emphasis on mental toughness these boys can become even more accomplished and tougher
opponents for the bowlers they come up against."
The right-handed top-order batsman, Azhar is considered as a Test specialist and has been performing quite consistently for Pakistan since the last one year in the longer version of the sport. On the other hand, Asad has been doing well in all the three
departments of the game but needs to convert his starts into big knocks.
Azhar has played 13 Tests for Pakistan so far, in which he has scored nine half-centuries at a healthy average of 38.26 runs per innings. However, the right-hander has failed to convert his starts into hundreds.
Mohsin is sure that the top-order batsman is going to score big knocks in the coming years and believes that he has the ability to score even double centuries.
"I don't want the boys like Azhar to focus on just making centuries, rather I would like to see double centuries and I am sure that with some more focus on the mental aspects of the game, this will happen in future," he added.
