Shoaib, famously known as the Rawalpindi Express, announced his retirement from international cricket during the ICC World Cup 2011 and said the ongoing tournament was going to be his last appearance in the game.
Azhar said that Akhtar has been a great servant of Pakistan cricket and the Men in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Green-c60723 would not be the same without him. He was all praise for the fastest bowler in the history of the game and said that he was expecting this tournament to be the last
of the speedster but was not expecting him to call it a day that early.
Azhar said, “I didn't know Shoaib Akhtar was going to retire beforehand, but on a personal level I did have a feeling that this could be his last World Cup. Especially if Pakistan went on to win. Despite that I was still shocked when I heard the news because
in many ways it's hard to imagine Pakistan cricket without the fastest bowler in the history of the game.”
The Rawalpindi Express has been struggling with injuries since the last few years and that was the reason why he had to cut down his bowling run up during Pakistan’s tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 in 2010. Azhar made his international debut in the same tour as well.
Azhar has played a lot of domestic cricket with Shoaib as both represent http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Khan-Research-Laboratories-c804 in the national cricket of Pakistan.
Ali described the charismatic fast bowler as a great influence on the team and said that he always loved playing with him.
“Shoaib is a very charismatic individual and even fellow cricketers enjoy being in his company. We really enjoy having him at KRL and whenever he plays for us there is always an extra buzz about the team,” Azhar added.
Azhar started his career as a right-arm leg spinner but converted into a solid top order batsman. A run of consistent performances at the domestic level earned him a place in Pakistan’s Test team in 2010 and since then he has impressed everyone with his
solid technique and temperament.
