Pakistan’s all-rounder, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Azhar-Mahmood-c1116, has earned a two-year contract from the English County, Kent, courtesy to his recent, outstanding stint with them.
The 36-year-old, who performed brilliantly during the recently finished County season For Kent, showed excitement after signing the deal.
The right-arm medium fast bowler revealed that he has always preferred to offer his services to Kent.
Meanwhile, he expressed hope that his side is all set to perform well in the English domestic ranks.   
"I am so pleased to have agreed the extended contract. I am really looking forward to the next two years. Whilst it has taken a while to conclude this, I've never had anywhere other than Kent in my thoughts. It is a special club
and I truly believe we can achieve great things in the coming years," Mahmood told BBC News.
Recently, the Pakistani all-rounder was right on the money with his all-round recital during the Friends Life Twenty20 Championship, playing 15 matches, scoring 485 runs with an impressive average of 40.41, and picking 14 wickets.
  
Mahmood, who has represented Pakistan in 21 Tests, and 143 One Day Internationals, also showed his presence in the County Championship Division two, participating in 7 matches, making 521 runs with an average of 52.10, and taking
23 wickets.
Tough Kent failed to win any competition in the County season, Mahmood was excellent with his performance in every format of the game.  
Mahmood, who has earned 900 runs in the longest format for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755, and grabbed 39 wickets, played considerably well in the Clydesdale Bank 40 tournament as well.   
On the other hand, the chairman of Kent, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Graham-Johnson-c60600, also appreciated Mahmood’s performance during the recently concluded season.
According to Johnson, the useful all-rounder has been performing marvelously in the every department of the game, which helps the county a lot.
"We are delighted to have re-signed Azhar. He made a fantastic contribution in 2011, finishing top of the club batting averages in the County Championship, scoring a fantastic t20 hundred at Beckenham and bowling consistently well
in both one-day and championship cricket,” he told BBC News.
