Azlan Misron confidents to deliver in MHL
Legendary player of Malaysia’s national hockey team, Azlan Misron is representing Kuala Lumpur Hockey Club (KLHC) in the Malaysian Hockey League (MHL) and quite hopeful for delivering outstanding performance in the tournament. Misron, who is captain of the
KLHC, has been participating in the MHL for the last ten years.
Azlan Misron, the wonderful attacker and midfielder despite playing the MHL for last one decade has not acquired any personal achievement or titles like best player award, highest scorer of the tournament or man of the match award. Unfortunately, he could
not win any such award in international tournaments as well.
Misron will lead the Kuala Lumpur Hockey Club in the Malaysian Hockey League and is aiming to contest the tournament with new passion particularly after acquiring the first ever silver medal in the history of the Asian Games.
Azlan Misron, who has had 256 international caps from national hockey team of Malaysia, was the top scorer of his squad in the last month Asiad. He is hoping to continue his stamina and form into the tournament for earning a remarkable victory for KLHC.
Kuala Lumpur will face Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) in Charity Shield match, which will also count as the premier game of the event. Misron was of the view that the first game will be a perfect encounter to judge their worth in the tournament.
Malaysian star said, “Winning the match is vital as it is not just the Charity Shield at stake but more importantly there are also the three points to fight. Tenaga have a formidable side but we are ready for them. I reckon it will be an explosive encounter.”
Misron maintained that the midfielders would decide the victory and defeat of the game as duo squads have had legendary players. He further said that he was seeing a deliberate game with many field goals instead of only short corners’ conversions.
It will be a third match between the two clubs after the last season where duo teams acquired one game apiece. Tenaga Nasional won the last title of the league while KLCH was defeated by Sapura in the semi final stage.
Misron stated that they would have to face short-corner specialist, Mohd Amin Rahim, who is playing from Tenaga side and could give tough time to them.
Misron, the 27-year old player and skipper of KLHC wanted to acquire personal award besides winning title for the club. He is quite hopeful for earning good results from this year’s tournament.
