  1. brian

  2. I think Mitchell might have done it.

His mobility and ring craft may have been too much for Nelson.

Nelson was a great fighter, but he did struggle with quicker opponents, Whittaker and even Jim McDonnell gave him trouble.

Mitchell is forgotten by most people now, vastly underrated.

  3. Don King.

  4. Very good matchup and question sir.  Mitchell 46-1-3, was a very busy fighter that threw a lot of punches every round and stayed in peak physical condition for all of his fights.  He usually won his fights by decision and usually by a comfortable margine.  Azumah Nelson "The Little Professor" 39-5-2 ,was a very classy fighter.  He boxed well and had good power and stamina.  He is well known for his great fight with the legendary Salvodor Sanchez.  Although he lost, he showed that he was going to be a force to be reckoned with and he was.  This would have been a competitive high action fight with Mitchell landing the higher volume of punches and Nelson landing the harder shots.  There would be several momentum swings throughout in a fight that would have certainly been fun to watch.  I have Mitchell the winner by split decision.
