I am just curious, how much vitamin B-12 is in a B-12 injection?

  1. It's up to the attending Pysiciam based on your need.  Most commonly 1000mcg but can be 2000-3000mcg as well.

  3. Yep 1000mcg is the standard injection. Given once a week to start, then once a month is good. 1000mcg can also be stated as 1mg but seldom is. B12 is usually given by IM injection because some people are low because they do not have the "intrinsic factor" required to absorb it from the gut. I personally take it by dissolving it under the tongue. Dr Mercola (www.mercola.com) mixes it with DMSO and applies it topically
