I love the study but am not sure about what kinds of jobs i'll be able to get. Anyone who has an anth degree, what are you doing with yourself? How much do you make? Do you find meaning in your work and do you enjoy yourself?

  1. I'm planning on a minor in Chemistry with a major in Anthropology.  My goal is Forensic Science and Death Investigation.

  2. Study marketing...

  3. Sadly, there is literally nothing you can do with a B.A. in anthro. At the very best, its the equivalent of any other college undergrad degree that makes you slightly more hireable in certain fields that those without one, but theres nothing within anthropology you can do with just the B.A. My advice is go for it, and then go to grad school. Get a masters or a PhD and you can do anything you want within anthropology. Best of luck.

  4. I have a degree in philosophy and another in ancient near eastern languages and both offer about the same opportunity for income as anthropology - none.  So I became a sales person and I make $300,000 per year!  Study what you want to study and then get a sales job!  Best of both worlds!

  5. You can't do much with only that degree if you want to work in anthropology or archaeology.  You can get into CRM work and fieldwork, but you really can't get much higher without either another degree (I have two bachelor's and a master's and now working on a doctorate) or more experience in something if you want to stay in that field.  For anthro, you need to have at least a master's to progress anywhere and that's why I'm getting a PhD.  You could get into museum work or work with the gov't, too, but you need more experience in other things to get into good jobs.  My advice would be to either continue on with graduate studies or get a dual degree.
