  1. Bought a B & Q kitchen last year, excellent value, but got an independent fitter from the local paper to fit it, he was half the price that B & Q quoted saved myself £1,200.

  2. Our current kitchen is B&Q and so was the one in our last house - they are good quality and lasted well - however I would never use the fitters again - it took 18 months to sort out the first kitchen.

This time I got a local builder to do it for about £800 which was great and it looks good.

  3. Buy a Wickes one and fit it yourself. It's a doddle and you'll save a fortune.

  4. They are cheaper to buy but they are not the best & everything comes flat packed which takes more time to assemble etc is more costly in labour terms.. also have so many problems with orders not correct when it comes to  fitting.

much better to go to somewhere like howdens joinery (as an independent fitter I have an account there which enables me to get up to 70% off) they send out a surveyor to measure up properly free of charge. ( anything wrong is then up to them to replace) The units are delivered readymade to sit straight in & you fit your choice of doors & thats it. (much less time & labour) contact me & let me know if you live in London area

  5. B&Q sub-contract the fitting work anyway (and keep 50% of the fitting charge to do so)

    Use an independent fitter.
