it is father in laws birthday (60th) next week and he is really into gardening and diy would vouchers be ok or will it seem a bit of a cop out as there is going to be a big family get together

nope vouchers are a great idea, men are very practical when it comes to presents, he wont think that you've haven't put any thought in, he'll think great I can get what I need.
