But now my car is sittin at my shop and debatin on a b18 stock 4 now or a b20.. 4rm what I know its just the piston that differ. But what are the details behind this. I looked up the parts like h20 pump and timing belt on both. Is the b20 ready 2 get slapped in worry free.its a japenese so is it any different. What do I need?

  1. slap a vtec head on it too

  2. Save yourself alot of wasted money and get an H22. :) Its a much better engine. You will be very happy with the outcome. You can get one for probably as much as you would spend on the H20.

PS.... The B20 being ready... will work..

  3. i like the idea of a b20 swap, there cheap too. all you really need to get is the vtec head. they've got decent torque too compared to other honda engines

  4. If your going to leave it mostly stock the B20 is a great set up because it makes more torque than the LS and coast less than an LS. Its not really a performance engine but can easily take 6-8psi with good fuel management without having to build it up.

Yup it bolts right in. You must use the Intake/exhaust manifold, distributor, flywheel/clutch and engine mount form your LS. But before you swap everything over I recomend you change your timing belt, water pump, t-belt tensioner and rear main seal to make sure everything is good before you install it.  Make sure to get an obd2 engine if you car is obd2.

  5. every thing hooks up the same...the only bad thing about the b20 is that its cylinder walls are thin....theres chances of you trowing a rod because of the thin walls...but other than that its has more torque and a bigger displacement....
