That plane that had 2 engine failures and missed the runway and landed and the grass and the wheels snapped off and went trough the wings.

Yerh, well did they ever find out what happened?

  1. For some reason other aircraft have experienced similar problems.  It just wasn't publicized as much as the incident that happened at Heathrow.  Boeing is looking at their aircraft to see what is wrong.

  2. The last thing I read was that all systems checked out okay and they had no idea why they lost power.

It will probably take another 2 or 3 crashes to find out what the (computer) error is - seems to be the way nowadays.

  3. Cracking one for a conspiracy theory this is.

No mechanical/systems failure was found with the aircraft.

The number one usual scapegoats of the pilots were hailed as heros.

I'd heard one theory based on the fact that it was close to a plane carrying PM Gordon Brown and that this aeroplane was operating jamming equipment for security reasons which had interfered with the approaching British Airways aeroplane causing the still unexplained loss of engine power. Not like they'd make that one public though.
