  1. My BA in Sociology was 125 hours (some universities require less).  I minored in Criminal Justice.  I generally took between 15-23 hours in the Fall and Spring semesters and also took classes during the Wintermester, Maymester and both Summer Sessions....I completed my BA in less than 3 years...which kicked my butt a bit.  If you only carry 12 hours each semester (Fall and Spring) it would take you forever to graduate....so you should plan on either loading up here or there..or taking a few classes in the summer.  With SOCI degrees you are typically free to have several electives, so it's ez to get a minor in whatever subject you choose.  With SOCI you will take the basics as with any other degree such as MATH (college algebra, stats) LIT, ENGL, BIOL, HIST, etc. as well as SOCI classes such as intro, stats, theory, research methods, computer applications in the social sciences, deviance, etc.

Good luck to you..if you really enjoy studying SOCI...it can be GREAT fun!
