BABOLAT AEROPRO DRIVE CORTEX VS. HEAD MICROGEL EXTREME PRO???

Hi,

I'm currently looking for a new tennis racquet. I'm mostly a baseline player who puts a variety of spins on my shots especially topspin. I like putting a good amount of power and spin in my shots to produce many winners yet still be very consistent. I want to have great control on my groundstrokes and serve to place/hit the ball anywhere I please. I come to the net occasionally to put points away. I use a one-handed backhand (flat, topspin, and slice) and I like putting great pace and spin on my serve. Also, I use a semi-western or western grip on my forehands. I am considering on purchasing either the Babolat AeroPro Drive Cortex or the Head MicroGel Extreme Pro because I like their specifications and I believe that they will go very well with my game. Which tennis racquet do you suggest/prefer? If you have any other suggestions, please feel free to respond.

Thank You :)

  1. Hey,

I own the babolat aero pro drive w/ cortex, and I strongly recommend it if you like to put a lot of top spin on your shots. Like you, I also hit with a lot of top spin and like to stick around by the baseline. This racket is ideal if you like to take a good cut at the ball. As for serving, I became better with my placement and consistency when I started to use this racket. Not only will this racket give you tremendous spin, it also gives plenty of power. This racket should go pretty well with your game.

    Hope this helped =D

  2. i have the extreme and its helped me a lot with putting a variety of spins on the ball. Its made me hit a lot of balls cleaner as well

  3. i think the Head Microgel Extreme Pro is a bit heavier (335 g) than the Babolat Aero Pro Drive Cortex (320 g). this helps in achieving higher swingweight of the Microgel (332 vs 324). other spec roughly similar, i think you should get the Microgel since it will help you develop better strokes and faster ball flight, provided you can manage to maintain the swing speed of your arm (you need to swing it fast and long). the Microgel also is a bit more maneuverable, so you can hack some volleys quicker in front of the net. personally i'd suggest the Wilson KSix-One Tour 90, ah but the choice is yours. hope it helps :)

  4. If you are realy strong man get ExtremePro. It is havier and suite for baseliners. If you go often to the net get AeroPro will be easy to play.Good luck

  5. i have the babolat is my oh my..it's amazing (:

i love it and  im only 15 years old xD
