I'm sorry, but I'm not very  taken with either of those names. Brandy is the nicest of the two, but it sounds a little like a name for a stripper.

If you like B names - Belinda, Brenna, Breanna (also spelled Brianna, Bryanna, Bryanne), Briony, Bella, Bethany.

If you want a name inspired by her father's name you could use the last part of his name eg Donna, Donatella.

Candice sounds a little like Brandon, so it might go nicely with his surname.

Why does she have to be named after your boyfriend? Let her have her own identity! I've always hated it when people name their kids after themselves, it's so conceited. Beyond that, it's really going to limit you on names. You should pick a name that you LOVE for your child, not just one that only got picked because it's similar to the father's name.

If you're determined to give her a name based on his, I'd suggest Brenna. It's pretty, a bit more modern than Brenda or Brandy, and it's a legitimate name.

Brynn is also pretty.

Braniyah is just horrendous. Don't do it! In the first place, it's terrible for spelling - she'll always be correcting people. It's actually painful to look at. Secondly, I can't even figure out how to pronounce it, which is a sure sign that it's NOT a good choice. And thirdly, it looks WAY too made-up.

I'd still really suggest trying to come up with other names that are NOT derived from your boyfriend's name.

Edit: Okay there's NO need to be nasty about people voicing their opinions, that's the whole point of Yahoo Answers... And spell the "name" right the first time before you get so uppity about it!

It looks even more horrendous with the apostrophe, anyway. Very ghetto. Not to mention that with the apostrophe, the first half is simply the word "bra" - you know, the thing that holds your b***s up?

I think giving your child a name that identifies with a parents name is overrated! If you must, use it as a middle name. I would definately consider how your child might feel being named such an unsusual name...not that there is anything wrong with that, my daughter has a very unique name, but it means something special. In any case, go with your heart and a name you'll be proud to yell across the playground!
